Elevation is excited to welcome Oliver Bourgeois, a Geological Engineering student at UBC, who joins our Bridge Engineering Services team as a summer co-op student. With a keen interest in transportation engineering, he’s eager to gain hands-on experience and explore how geological expertise supports infrastructure projects - like Elevation’s work on the Summerland rockslide.

Transitioning from a geological background to civil engineering presents an exciting challenge, and Oliver looks forward to learning from a project management perspective. “Though I’m fairly new to this field, I hope to build my skills, contribute meaningfully, and make the most of this opportunity,” he shares.

Oliver enjoys interpreting drawings, cross-referencing technical documents, and collaborating on project challenges. He’s excited for fieldwork, applying insights in construction, and developing skills in drone technology.

Outside work, Oliver is an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys biking, skiing, kickboxing, and jiu-jitsu. Based in Kamloops, B.C., he embraces every opportunity for growth as he begins his engineering journey.
