Survey & Reality Capture Specialist
Location
Lower Mainland, BC

Elevation Technical Services is building a next-generation service offering that combines survey, reality capture, and digital construction workflows and we’re looking for the right people to be part of it.

This isn’t a traditional survey role.

You’ll be working on active construction sites using modern survey equipment, robotic total stations, GNSS, 3D laser scanning, mobile mapping systems, and RPAS (drone) technology to capture high-precision data that directly drives construction decisions.

From layout and control to QA/QC scanning, mobile data capture, and aerial mapping, you’ll be part of a field team delivering accurate, actionable data, not just points on a screen.

If you’re looking to move beyond conventional survey work and get hands-on with cutting-edge tools and workflows, this is that opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform construction layout and accurate control surveys using GNSS and total station equipment
  • Operate and support 3D laser scanning for QA/QC and as-built verification
  • Assist with mobile mapping and scanning workflows for rapid site capture
  • Support RPAS (drone) operations for aerial mapping, progress tracking, and data collection
  • Assist with field setup including control points, targets, and scan planning
  • Collect and validate field data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Support real-time QA/QC workflows (pre-pour checks, FF/FL, embeds, structural verification)
  • Coordinate with project managers and VDC teams to align field data with project needs
  • Maintain and care for survey, scanning, and drone equipment
  • Follow site safety protocols and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or certificate in Geomatics, Surveying, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–5+ years of experience in construction survey or field data collection
  • Eligible for or pursuing C.Tech, AScT, or similar professional designation
  • Experience with GNSS and robotic total stations
  • Exposure to or interest in:
  • 3D laser scanning
  • Mobile mapping technologies
  • RPAS (drone) operations
  • RPAS certification (e.g., Transport Canada Basic or Advanced) is an asset
  • Familiarity with Trimble equipment (e.g., Access, FieldLink) is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work outdoors in dynamic construction environments
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites

What We Offer

  • Hands-on experience with advanced survey, scanning, mobile mapping, and drone technologies
  • Opportunity to grow into senior technical or leadership roles
  • A collaborative, employee-owned company with strong growth momentum
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • Exposure to a wide range of civil and building construction projects

Work Environment

This is a field-focused role, working on active construction sites across British Columbia, with occasional office time for coordination and data handling.
