Elevation Technical Services Ltd. is expanding its Bridge Engineering Team and is looking for Bridge Engineers and Design Technologists as we take on several new projects across British Columbia.

The ideal candidate for our Bridge Design Technologist position will have a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in bridge and structural drawing production and detailing using CAD software.  Preference will be given to candidates with a track record of successfully contributing to bridge and structural design projects for BC MOTT.  Some experience in bridge inspection and construction would be a strong asset.  Additional relevant training and education will also be considered strong assets.

Does your resume include:

·    A diploma in civil engineering technology, or engineering design and drafting, from an accredited technical institution.

·    7+ years of relevant progressive experience in bridge and structures design and drafting including steel, concrete, and/or timber structures,

·    Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D,

·     Familiarity in the use of engineering and drafting software such as Excel, Bluebeam Revu and Adobe Pro to efficiently coordinate engineering documents,

·    A strong team work ethic and ability to independently develop drawings and documents based on both verbal and written instruction,

·    Excellent attention to detail,

·    Strong verbal and written communication skills,

·    Notable planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring that work is completed on schedule and within budget.

Your application will stand out for this role if you:

·    have previously contributed to BC MOTT bridge and structural projects,

·    have a solid knowledge and understanding of BC MOTT Design and Construction Standards,

·    have some experience with Revit, Sketchup or other 3D modelling software,

·    are registered, or eligible for registration with ASTTBC,

·     have a fundamental understanding of (or demonstrated work experience) of structural engineering design, structural inspection and/or heavy structural construction practices,

·     are able to confidently take on new challenges and responsibilities, and

·     have the desire to continue to learn and grow in your profession and achieve new levels of success.

Your key to success in this role will be your ability to work closely with project managers, engineers and other technologists to provide design, and drafting services for a variety of public and private sector clients with a strong focus on bridges and other transportation-related structures.  We are looking for individuals who share our commitment to technical excellence and who are passionate about supporting the expansion and maintenance of B.C.’s bridge and transportation infrastructure networks and growing our engineering team.

Your regular day on the job will include:

·     utilizing CAD software to prepare technical drawings for our bridge and structural projects that best represent project requirements through concept design, detailed design, issued for tender and record drawings,

·     preparing technical drawings for a variety of bridge and structural repair, rehabilitation, and replacement projects in accordance with applicable client drawing standards,

·     working closely with colleagues and team members to understand and ensure compliance with engineering design and drafting standards,

·     preparing and exporting drawings and models in various formats for internal reviews and client and stakeholder submissions,

·     collaborating with multi-disciplined design teams to modify and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, project managers, clients or other team members,

·     organizing and managing a variety of CAD files, ensuring that drawings and models are accessible to other team members,  

·     producing quantity take-offs and assisting with cost estimating for various structural projects,  

·     conducting site visits and assisting with bridge and structural inspections as required, and

performing other responsibilities as required to assist in business development, preparing proposals, etc.

Pay:
$60,000 to $90,000 per year
